When you go to a shoe or any footwear store, it is a customer’s right to try if the shoe or the footwear you will buy fit right for you. But, there are some who will just look for the sizes of their feet and rush ahead the counter and will just try the shoes at home.
Maybe there is a problem with that customer. Well I guess, not on discriminating, but possibly he has ‘foot odor’.
Foot odor or bromhidrosis, comes from the bacteria that grows on moist, warm feet. Lots of sweat glands are on our feet which causes perspiration. When the feet perspire, it contains chemicals that will smell. Bacteria’s that are produced thrive in warm, dark, wet shoes. If you will just ignore it, bacteria on your feet will keep on multiplying and will also scare everyone from your house. Yes, it may transfer to another person but it cannot if the affected person will do ways to stop his feet to produce foot odor.
You may take these tips to stop that odor of your feet.
Soak feet every night in a warm vinegar bath. Pour one part vinegar to two parts water. Let feet soak for fifteen to twenty minutes. Using vinegar to stop foot odor is an excellent natural remedy to fight the smell from stinky feet.
Stop foot odor by soaking feet in strong black tea. Black tea’s tannins kill bacteria and help close pores in feet. Bring a pan of water to a boil and let black tea bags seep for at least ten minutes. Pour tea into a pail or container big enough for your feet. After the tea has cooled, soak feet for ten minutes.
For a quicker way to soak feet and stop foot odor, add a half a cup of kosher salt with a quart of water. Soak feet for a few minutes, but do not rinse them. Instead, dry feet with a towel. Salt dries out skin and will keep foot perspiration under control.
Put an antiperspirant on your feet before putting shoes on your feet. Make sure it’s an antiperspirant and not deodorant. Antiperspirants stop the sweating and smelling of feet the same way they work on armpits.
Wash our shoes. Wash your shoes well and put it on an air-dry place.
Choose open shoes. Let your feet breathe. Wear sandals whenever possible, because they allow air onto the feet, which helps evaporate sweat and slow the growth of odor-causing bacteria. If sandals aren’t an option, choose leather or canvas shoes, which breathe a bit, and avoid shoes that are lined with solid rubber or synthetic materials.
But if you still suffer from foot odor even if you tried those mentioned above, you must seek for doctor’s advice. He/ she can help you on your problem and will give you prescription for your foot odor.
