Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film ‘Jailer’ was released on the big screens today, August 10th. This film marks Rajinikanth’s spectacular return after two years. On Thursday, theaters in Kerala and Tamil Nadu witnessed a massive influx of fans.
Many ardent fans of the legendary actor were spotted at cinemas early in the morning, while some were seen rushing to theaters with excitement, pushing doors and eagerly entering the premises.
A Japanese couple even traveled from Osaka to Chennai to watch Rajinikanth’s new film ‘Jailer’. Yasuda Hidetoshi, leader of Rajinikanth’s fan club in Japan, told PTI, “We have come from Japan to Chennai to watch the film ‘Jailer’.”
A day before the release date, loyal fans of the charismatic actor sought divine blessings for the film’s success in a special ceremony held at a renowned temple in Madurai.
‘Jailer’ is an action-packed entertaining film featuring a splendid star cast including Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi, and Vinayakan Pramukh.
In the film, Rajinikanth portrayed the role of a police officer’s father. The movie also illustrates how an ordinary person uses swords and fire weapons to eliminate wrongdoers.
The film’s excitement has been so high that workplaces in Chennai and Bangalore have declared a holiday for employees on August 10th, as previously reported by LiveMint.
‘Jailer’ is a symbolic return for Rajinikanth after his final role in the 2021 film ‘Annaatthe’. While ‘Annaatthe’ raised significant expectations, it fell short at the box office, which is unusual for a seasoned superstar’s presence.
