OMG! What a blockbuster weekend at the box office for “OMG 2”! The film starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, and directed by Amit Rai, has raked in a whopping ₹73.7 crores in just five days.

The “OMG 2” Box Office: Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi’s film achieved its highest single-day collection on Independence Day and is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark this week. According to the initial estimates by Sacnilk.com, the film garnered a collection of ₹18.50 crores on Tuesday. This brings its total five-day collection to ₹73.67 crores.

“OMG 2” Box Office:

“OMG 2” was released on Friday with an opening collection of ₹10.26 crores. It went on to earn ₹15.3 crores and ₹17.55 crores on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. On Monday, there was a slight dip in earnings with a collection of ₹12 crores. However, the film made a strong recovery on Tuesday, which was a public holiday due to Independence Day, collecting ₹18.50 crores. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, “OMG 2” received a total of 74.37% occupancy in Hindi.

Akshay Attains Indian Citizenship:

On Independence Day, Akshay Kumar shared some exciting news with his fans. The actor, who has often faced questions from his fans about his Canadian citizenship, posted an image of his Indian citizenship certificate on Twitter. He captioned it, “Heart and citizenship, both Indian. Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind!”

Akshay had previously revealed that he had faced a tough phase in his career in the 1990s, marked by more than 15 consecutive flop films, which prompted him to apply for Canadian citizenship. In 2019, during an event, the actor disclosed that he had applied for an Indian passport.

However, after 25 edits, the film received an ‘A’ (Adult) certification from the censor board. It also features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam.

On August 11th, “OMG 2” clashed with “Gadar 2,” starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Interestingly, “OMG 2” includes a scene in which Akshay Kumar is seen singing the song “Udja Kale Kawan” from “Gadar.”
